Scott Speed Finished 39th...*
Scott Speed ended up 39th after the race at Watkins Glen International. The trackbar on his car broke which caused him to finish the race early. It seems that Scott cannot get a break on the racetrack. This weekend he is driving for Kevin Harvick Inc. for the Nationwide Series. Hopefully since he will be driving for a reputable team he can actually finish a race!!

Race Update
Looks like the race will be rained out for today. If it gets rained out then the race will be tomorrow. Unfortunately, I will be working tomorrow, I hope Scott Speed will do well tomorrow. According to ESPN, Nascar will let everyone know by 4pm if the race will be tomorrow. If the race is tomorrow expect a post tomorrow night :)
Scott Speed Qualifies 29th at Watkins Glen!
Scott Speed has qualified for the road course race at Watkins Glen. This is very exciting for his race team since he now has a sponsor that can provide a better pit crew team. Hopefully if something happens on the track the pit crew will be able to fix it. Below is the full article regarding Scott's new sponsor. I will be posting later tonight once the race is completed for a race recap! I just hope it does not get rained out, there is a cell of rain heading toward the track!

Scott Speed not gaining the Speed needed for Sprint Cup
The first two races that Scott Speed has raced in he did not finish. At the Brickyard 400 Scott Speed was able to qualify in the race. I was excited that I would be able to watch him race. However, that excitement soon left after a few laps. Scott had a tire that went down and with a small race team they were unable to recover quickly. That led to Scott having a DNF (did not finish) for his first race of the 2011 Sprint Cup Season. The second race in Pocono, PA Scott also qualified for. Even though Scott had DNF I was happy to see Brad Keslowski win! He had a wreck earlier last week and was driving with a swollen ankle!! The best part of his win is when he thanked the troops that died. I attached a post-race interview of him talking about the troops!
Hopefully this weekend at Watkins Glen Scott Speed can at least finish the race!

Scott Speed gets a ride in Sprint Cup!
How exciting! My favorite Nascar driver has a ride in Sprint Cup for the next three races. The first race starting today at the Brickyard 400 in Indianapolis. The Brickyard 400 was the first race I attended which made me hooked on racing. My dad, uncle and I went to Indianapolis for the day back in 2007. We took two flights to get there and on our way to get back to the airport after the race we missed our flight. However, My dad and uncle wanted to stay till the very end because their favorite driver was in the lead for the majority of the race. We had to spend the night in the airport but had a 6AM direct flight to Boston. All in all it was a great race and great time. I am excited to watch the Brickyard 400 and cheer on Scott Speed. He has no sponsor and is looking to drive the entire race! Most of the time if a driver has no sponsor they "start and park" which means they start the race to get points and get the car out there. Once they race a few laps they park the car in the garage to make sure the car doesn't get involved in a wreck. Let's go Scott Speed! The picture below is when I met Scott Speed last year at New Hampshire Motor Speedway!

Introduction
My name is Jessica Derosier and I am currently a part-time graduate student, single mother, and a full-time worker. I am trying to receive my MBA by the summer of 2012. My field of study is the MBA program with no concentration at this time. I would like to concentrate my electives in accounting classes because as an accountant it will be beneficial to enhance my knowledge. This is my fifth Nichols MBA class and my third on-demand class at Nichols. I am currently employed by The TJX Companies, Inc as a Sales & Use Tax Accountant. I am in charge of ten states the company does business in and I do their sales & use tax returns as well as the business licenses for the stores. When I receive my MBA degree I hope it opens more doors in the company I work for. I would love to work in corporate tax in the near future. I received my BA degree at Worcester State College in 2009.
I am enrolled in this course simply because the internet and web page design fascinates me. I would have loved to major in information technology if I could do it all over again. I am hoping to accomplish to learn more about the internet and learn how to design a web page from my points of view. When looking over the syllabus however I am a little intimated that the grading and requirements may be hard for me to handle, especially since grammar is not my strong point.
When choosing a statement to make about myself to stand out from others in class I would let you know that I am an avid NASCAR fan. I attend both races at Loudon, NH every year. My favorite driver is Scott Speed however he does not drive for a team in the 2011 season. Of course my second favorite driver is Dale Earnhardt Jr. I am choosing to write my blog about racing because it is one of my favorite sports to watch.
